What I most love about women is the decision making creating opportunities for themselves and the world.
Question: Who is Maria Palacio?

Maria Palacio - A young Latina filmmaker from Brooklyn New York. Maria recently finished working on her short film, which received an official selection at the International Puerto
Rican Heritage Film Festival in November 2015, the Short Women's film festival, which screened in February 2016 and the Official Latino Short Film Festival, which will screen on September 16, 2016. Her short film, Necromancer is based on her TV Pilot script, which she plans on submitting to festivals and using her trailer to help raise funds to shoot a few episodes of Necromancer and hopefully get the show picked up from a network. Maria began the new year as a founder and festival director of the Revolution Me Film Festival, which will be taking place, August 19-21 2016. The Revolution Me Film Festival it's in its first year to celebrate emerging filmmakers from around the world.
Question: Why you decided to found Revolution Me Film Festival?
I want to create a platform for emerging filmmakers who seek independence. Meaning, that I want filmmakers to be encouraged to tell stories that are realistic and are not afraid to tell them. I want filmmakers to know that when they are told "no", "you can't", "it's impossible" that they have the power to break those barriers down. Those words do not exist! We need more women filmmakers and we need more diversity. Without those things, then what can we relate to?
Question: How you selected the films that will be part of the festival?
Revolution Me Film Festival Wants to showcase films with real issues that we face every day, that everyone of us can relate to. Many of the films screening at the film festival did just that - it may have been a fantasy or comedy but the filmmakers used realistic aspects to tell the story, that I myself can relate to.
Question: Where is it going to be and what are the dates of the film festival?
Revolution Me Film Festival is taking place at 17 Frost Street, the theater of the arts, Brooklyn NY 11230 from August 19-21.
Question: What would you like people to remember about this festival?
I want people to remember that they have a voice! I want filmmakers to know that they should not be afraid of taking risks and being careful, to fight for their films. To keep pushing! Take risks!
